Drug and alcohol interventions - a life changing wake up call

A drug and alcohol intervention is a process of overcoming the barriers, getting across to the addicts and making them realize where they stand and what can be done to come out of the spell of substance addiction.

Intervention for drug abuse is a wake up call for someone who is going off the deep end. It is an attempt to put a safety net under the person whose life is spiraling downwards out of control. Successful interventions are behavioral interrupters. They address the problem, set boundaries, and offer solutions. They penetrate the addict’s denial system and are a turning point their life and ideally result in the individual going into a drug and alcohol rehab program.

A drug and alcohol intervention is an honest, heartfelt, communication. Intervention is an opportunity for family, friends and co-workers to say, “Hey, we’re watching you die, Man. It’s tearing our hearts out. What you do effects us too! We want you to get some help!“ An intervention of truth, piercing the protective armor of denial, is an incredible gift of love. It is opportunity of hope for a new life, for both the addict and his family.

Recovery does not have to be a painful process. Life is painful enough. Recovery should feel good. New alternative treatments that are holistic in nature are having remarkable results. In the past, addicts have resisted treatment, because it seemed more painful and difficult, than their active addiction. Thankfully, times have changed. Alternative treatment modalities have come a long way from the old days “break them down, let them suffer and feel the pain so they don’t do this again“ mentality. Today we know there is a lot more to recovery than shoving the twelve steps down someone’s throat.

Healthy treatment does not just give you a time out, put a band-aid on a wound the size of a decubicus ulcer, and send you on your way. Healthy treatment does not shame or degrade a human being, instead it heals low self esteem and empowers the individual to reach new heights. Healthy treatment gives you what you need to feel good physically, emotionally and spiritually. Healthy treatment reignites the spirit and restores the joy of living. Healthy treatment is holistic treatment of mind, body and spirit.

Recently the Art & Entertainment Network‘s show INTERVENTION, introduced America to a heroin addict using in her bathroom. We witnessed her progress while in treatment at North Miami’s G&G Holistic Addiction Treatment Program, better known as THE HOLISTIC CENTER. A sober year later, this woman is now working for the treatment center which helped her on her path to recovery. The before and after pictures are astonishing. We see two different people: 1) a heroin addict standing in a six hour long vegetative state in front of her bathroom mirror, nodding off after shooting up, and 2) a bright eyed, confident, joyful woman who is an inspiration to others, and who is self-supporting financially and emotionally. Her intervention was the bridge that transported her from the dead zone and gave her the opportunity to recover.

Think of an intervention as a cargo ship that transports the addict from active addiction to a destination, which is the protection of a addiction treatment facility. The captain is the facilitator. The crew is made of up of trusted family, friends, and co-workers. You have done your research and have a timetable and destination in mind.

Your cargo is your loved one and his emotional baggage. As Captain, you must steer the ship. Each crew member takes a turn at the helm, speaking his truth in love, chipping away at the addict’s anchor of denial. By the time, each person has shared their truth, feelings, needs, fears, and hope, the family will have traveled a great distance from denial into truth, and thoroughly defined the problem. It is now time to offer a solution.

Holistic Treatment is a solution, a blessing. Imagine treatment as a well of healing waters, not a prison from which you need to escape. It is imperative that the addict understand that they are receiving a gift, not punishment. Regardless of the mask’s of arrogance and defiance, the core of every addict is shame, guilt, self-hatred and fear. Love motivates and empowers. Acceptance waters the soul and facilitates healing and spiritual wellness.

In this day and age, when addiction recovery treatment is a billion dollar industry with pitiful success ratios, it is imperative to know that there is HOLISTIC TREATMENT that works, addressing the mind, body, and soul. Holistic treatment not only has the highest recovery rates, individuals seem to thrive, find genuine happiness, joy for living, and peace of mind.

Mathematician mom re-engineers quilting

During her career as a software engineer, Marci Baker solved difficult mathematical problems. When she became a stay-at-home mom, she turned to solving another problem involving precision and speed: "How do you make a traditional quilt in one-tenth the time?"

Along the way she discovered a sewing machine that appeals to both her quilting and her engineering sides.

A lifelong sewing enthusiast, Baker had not had much quilting experience. But looking for a creative outlet, she decided to focus on the craft and soon discovered that using the systematic approach of an engineer she could make the time-consuming process of cutting and sewing go much more quickly.

Baker developed a method based on "strip piecing," eliminating the need to measure and sew together every small piece of fabric in a quilt top. Instead, strips of fabric are sewn together, cut diagonally, and then pieced together in a pattern. Using Baker's method, a traditional quilt that would normally take about 50 hours to complete can be pieced together in as little as five hours.

Realizing she'd created a marketable product, Baker designed patterns and quilting tools and began selling them through her company, Alicia's Attic. With the ability to make quilting dramatically faster and easier, Baker's products turned out to be ideal for the two largest segments of the quilting market: experienced quilters and those who want to learn.

Two years ago Baker opened a retail space. She uses it as a workshop, to hold quilting classes and as a place to offer her books, patterns and quilting tools. She also sells the Janome line of sewing machines. She began using Janome sewing machines in her classes because she knew they would be easy for new quilters to operate and give experienced quilters excellent results.

Baker does her own quilting on Janome's Memory Craft 6500 Professional machine, which operates at up to 1,000 stitches per minute and has almost twice the workspace of the traditional home sewing machine. Janome designed it to have the power and stitch quality of an industrial machine, but with the quiet operation of a home machine.

Baker says she's looking forward to using Janome's newly released Memory Craft 6600, which has even more advanced features.

Cruising gaytruckers

There is no real way to cruise, Keep in mind to make sure you have a head on your shoulders. I must say that cruising is always dangerous. This is why you must have a head on your shoulders. Especially if your cruising a trucker cause they are bothered all the time in rest stops, and Truck Stops. Truckers are bothered so much by cruisers that even when they want to sleep its not always that easy. This does not mean to not cruise truckers. I for one always wait till I know for a FACT the other guy is cruising, Knocking on Truck Doors, Walking around the truck when a driver is sleeping is really bad news. Use your best judgement and don't get to pushy. If the driver is is interested, he more than likely is going to let you know somehow he is interested, by a means of constantly flashing his lights or constantly clicking the cb mic, or constantly lighting cigs so you can see the lighter light up in the truck. He may also walk around his truck and or take a piss. If you see him take a second piss and its only been 20 min, More than likely that driver wants some head!. (Keyword: More than likely) doesn't mean he wants it and this all again falls back to good judgement.

Please keep in mind as stated above, These drivers are working LONG HARD hours, Some trucking 15 plus hours a day. Then they are pressured by there dispatcher to get the load there even sooner!. And the dispatcher basically tells them that he doesn't care how much you have to lie on your log book, just get it there. Due to all this pressure of the industry and LAY OVERS is when a driver usually is not making money can cause any driver, Gay , BI or str8 to be in a real piss bad ass mood!. Due to this above factor it can also cause a driver to want relief also!!, Please keep that in mind and again use your best judgement and don't be pushy.

I ( Your Webmaster ), trucked the eastern side of North America for about 8 years and part of that 8 years was even going out to the west and seeing the other side of the ocean. I for one rarely slept in rest areas, I got bothered way to much by cruisers. Especially when I was on 20 hours and no sleep and I wanted to sleep and getting my door knocked on? As stated above, Knocking on truckers door (Unless invited) is basically walking up to any house (This driver lives in that truck don't forget) so its basically like walking up to any house and knocking on the door at 3 am and saying, HI how are you , what's up? , Not good practice!.

This does not mean I didn't sleep in rest areas!. You bet your tidy little ass when I layed over or I had the time and had rest I was found in a rest area clicking my mic on my CB. I have even been noted to turn the truck around and head the other direction! HA HA, ya not to smart but I did that a few times when I was so horny and had someone on the CB.

Please keep in mind most of these truckers are looking for a BLOW JOB and that's it unless they really are a Gay Trucker and at that point they may be looking to do a little more.

I rarely cruised the truckstops as a driver. Reason for this is cause I owned my own truck, it had my business name on it. Even when I drove for a company I was still very skeptical on cruising a truckstop. This does not mean I did not do it!, Of coarse I did!. I just had to be smart and do things right. In a truckstop your truck is parked next to many other rigs. If its a major PETRO or FLYING J then chances are your parked with many hundreds of rigs in one LARGE parking lot. Due to this factor a driver must be real careful, Last thing a driver needs parked in a truckstop is to air on the cb radio that the BLUE TRL TRUCK in the FRONT ROW is a good buddy!. Though there is a lot of activity that happens at trucks tops and rest areas keep in mind your in a BLUE COLLAR type of environment, Many Married Truckers with families at home. Some willing to play and others not willing to play. And others willing to call the cops on you or come at you with a gun!. This is not meant to scare you off on cruising either.

I am just explaining to use proper judgement.

So use your head, Best judgement. If your new at cruising, Then spend some time at the truckstops and rest areas and just watch, Learn!, Listen, Get a CB and listen in on cb 19. Visual experience is the best tool for learning. Sit back in your car or truck and just listen in and watch. You will get the idea in no time how to do it.

With new technology like ( wireless internet ). Cruising Truckers online has become easier. There is a good amount of Featured and non featured drivers here at GayTruckstop. com Email um, Engage in community posts and make new friends!. Dont be afraid to ask questions and most importantly dont pressure them. They deserve all the relief they can get!, They are delivering americas frieght! So remember that the next time you put your clean pair of undies on! ( You can bet your ass a driver delivered them as some point!. )

Hope you enjoyed the article and grasped some info from it.

Gracias a algunas reglas y guнas en lнnea podrбs jugar y quien sabe ganar.
